Name: Young Dreams
When we featured Einar Stray and and Team Me as Band Of The Day, we remarked that Norway was proving to be a top breeding ground for a young generation of musicians.
Today’s Band Of The Day have got us clamouring for passports and checking the weather forecast in Oslo. Okay, not really, but goodness me, Young Dreams are something special. Coming out of Bergen, Norway and boasting a line up that is a hearty 12 strong, Young Dreams are purveyors of a delicious dream pop packed with tinkling glockenspiels and feathery light vocals. Their sound is crisp and clean, almost effortless. We have sung the praises of Treefight For Sunlight, their often beautiful arrangements made many a fan here at Whiteboard, but ( Whisper it quietly) Young Dreams may just be that touch more enchanting.
It would be wrong to write that Young Dreams are similar to Beach Boys or Fleet Foxes.However, It is clear that both bands are big influences on this style of this precocious group. The extent of availible material is quite sparse at the moment. Early impressons are fantastic. Single ’ Dream Alone, Wake Together’ will be released on the 6th June. It captures the essence of the band perfectly.
